What we do

Our programs are designed to ensure the growth and  happiness of children and youth, and to complement the education which each student receives during the day.

All of our programs are equally important in structuring a successful support system for our children, youth, and their families.  We work with children and youth between the ages of 1 month and 18 years.

Academic and Arts Program

Children and youth are divided into age-specific groups in which they receive tutoring, mentoring, go on field trips, and participate in arts and crafts activities.

The interactions with children are based on a “Free Movement” approach that encourages children to select from a variety of academic and art activities based on their individual needs, interests and learning styles.  Examples of academic and art activities include tutoring in math, visits to the Berkeley Marina, and writing and acting in plays for the community.

We support the community

  • information and classes on health and personal development - anger management, drug abuse, teen counseling, art and craft design, teen ministry, image development, and elder abuse

  • making referrals to community agencies and providers

  • providing information on community resources

  • food bank from the Alameda County Food Bank
